My brother passed away. I am responsible for taking care of his affairs. How can I get his email password?

I have his ID, but not his password. I know most of his bills were delivered electronically, but I cannot get to them without accessing his email. There are business contacts in his address book that need to be notified as well. Please help!

Reply:If you can't use "forgot my password" your not going to have much luck. Check old bank statements for payments made in the past and contact the payee's. Of course many utilities, taxes, rent, etc. are a given. Anything you miss will be taken care of during probate. Bottom line is they can't come after you, they can only get their money from his estate. I wouldn't put too much effort into business contacts, knowing why they can't contact him won't change the fact that their taking their business elsewhere.
Reply:Go to his bank with the letter testamentary you got from the probate court, all electronic billing will still have to go through them and there is probably some other matters you will have to take care of there anyway, they will know how to handle it, they've been there before.





Also, if they can't get in contact with him via electronic means, they will go to the old standby, phone and then letters.

Reply:Have you tried going through the forgot my password link? Most of the time you'll be able to figure out what your brother would put for those secruity questions
