Is it OK to give to them, I dont trust anybody, is it not dodgy?
Why does Facebook ask for my email password?
The only time you give your password is to check if your friends from your address book are already in facebook. You can send mails to each of them and check, or the alternate way is to send them invitation to join facebook.
Hope i answered your question
Reply:yeah, go ahead and give them your password. you're already giving them your full name, the full names of your friends (once you connect with them), a good amount of of personal tastes, and lots of other goodies to add to their database. this way they can track you and find ways of targetting better ads at you when you surf the web. nothing to worry about. it's well worth it, so you can "poke" people and fill out fun surveys.
Reply:You can have a differnt password on facebook, then your email password is, I do!
Reply:So they can send invitations to all your e-mail contacts.
Reply:It is so they can have access to your address book in your email. The address book is protected and kept secure in your email. For example, you can't just go to a webpage and look at your friends address book, you need their password and sign on as if you are them.
Facebook will log on as you, check all the email addresses in your account, and see if any of those addresses match that of someone who has a facebook account.
Reply:they don't ask this! they haven't me anyhow... usually if they ask a very secure question there is a paragraph at the side explaining why they need this.
as far as i know they ask fo your email address which becomes your log in user name and then a password of your choice to log into facebook. NOT your email password.
Reply:they use your email to send invites to join facebook to your whole list. facebook is safe, but annoying.
Reply:what is facebook?
something like myspace?
Reply:they ask u 4 yur email password cuz they want 2 find friends from yur email contacts that dont have a facebook.
Reply:it askes it so they can find the people on your email contacts
